MPC, a renowned visual effects company, is known for delivering high-quality VFX for film and television. In the third and final season of Netflix’s "Vikings: Valhalla," MPC's teams from Toronto, Mumbai, and Bangalore provided over 500 VFX shots, serving as the sole vendor for the season. This season continues the saga of historical drama, capturing the adventures of legendary Vikings.

For "Vikings: Valhalla" Season 3, led by Production VFX Supervisor Ben Mossman and VFX Producer Martin O’Brien, MPC focused on creating photorealistic historical locations and enhancing action scenes with complex FX simulations. Their work included digitally recreating cityscapes and landscapes such as Syracuse, Constantinople, Greenland, and Poland. Notable achievements included the CG recreation of Winchester Cathedral and the Viking stronghold of Kattegat. One of the standout sequences involved a cliff collapse, which required precise timing and execution, fully rendered in CG due to limited practical effects.

Additionally, a significant challenge was presented in Episode 308 with a fire sequence that had to be entirely recreated in CG. This shift from practical fire elements to digital effects required meticulous planning and collaboration with the creative team to ensure visual consistency and storytelling effectiveness. The fire not only illuminated the scene but also played a crucial role in the narrative, aiding the heroes' escape.

Production VFX Supervisor Ben Mossman expressed pride in the team's efforts, highlighting the delivery of nearly 2,000 VFX shots across all three seasons.
